My journalNote: Journal entries from Sep. 28th to Oct. 20th relate to my other webpage since I was having trouble with this NYU website Sep 28th Alicia Lindsey helped me to activate my NYU webpage. She was very friendly and kind, I appreciate her help very much. We put the background color of the page, a picture of Ganesha, and we created three links. Oct 2nd I was trying really hard to work on the NYU webpage, but I really don't understand how to do it. I decided to use the Frontpage 2000 program, in which I already had started a web page. I created again a link for my Technology class assignments, a page for my music, for my audio , for my images and for the journal. On the music page I chose a track of a CD that a friend helped me to transform to mp3 with Soundforge. It is a piece that I composed together with my husband, Pedro Henriques da Silva for sitar and piano. I also put a picture of us playing together. Oct 5th I worked on the images page. I scanned a picture and then I had to install the Adobe Photoshop Elements program and use that to transform the picture with different effects. I used the liquefy effect (it was fun!), I also used the neon effect with blue, so it blended with the background color of that page, then I used the pointilize and the bas relief filters which created some really interesting results... Oct 12th My husband's birthday! since the celebration was at night I was able to work this morning...I downloaded the Audacity program from the internet, I ripped one of the tracks of my CD, "Buleria", another piece that I composed together with my husband, part of the CD that we recorded together with our duo, the "Duo Caruso-da Silva". I am trying to transfer this website to my NYU website and I still can't do it... Oct 20th A friend of mine tried to help me to transfer my web page again without much success. He also explained gif animation to me but I haven't got the chance to do it yet. --------------------------------------------------------- Oct 25th I finally was able to transfer everything from my other webpage to this NYU page. The problem was that my images and audio files had a space between each word and Frontpage's html reads every space as an underscore. Then I copied and pasted it to the NYU html which doesn't recognize the spaces as underscores. When I uploaded the images to my NYU page there was no underscore between the words. Anyway, I was able to fix it and I am so happy!!! Finally I understand html!!!! |
